HOLMES COUNTY TEMPORARILY SUSPENDS GENERAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE

With area wind speeds now in excess of 45 mph, all Holmes County first responders have been directed to find a safe location to shelter themselves and their vehicles.
Until further notice, first responders with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office are in local shelters and will not respond until the storm passes.

Residents experiencing a true emergency should continue to call 911, and units will respond as soon as conditions allow.
Response will be prioritized based on the severity of the emergency.

County emergency managers are in constant contact with state officials, and the state has promised to assist Holmes County with any resources it may need to respond to local emergencies.
