A curfew is in effect for all of Holmes County from 4 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11.
All residents of Holmes County are advised to remain indoors and to avoid traveling on local streets. This applies to pedestrian traffic, vehicular movement, standing or parking. Residents should remain in their homes/shelters until the curfew is lifted.
This curfew does not apply to travel by essential services (police, correctional services, fire, EMS, hospital services, and other appropriate emergency relief personnel), as well as public works/transportation officials, on-duty military, and media.
Any municipality may opt out of this curfew at its discretion.
The purpose of this curfew is to protect the citizens of Holmes County and their property while the impacts of Hurricane Michael are present. It will remain in effect for the times listed above, unless conditions dictate that it be extended.
