A curfew has been implemented for Holmes County from dusk until dawn as a public safety measure.

Holmes County residents are asked to arrive at their destinations by dusk and to not venture out.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd has dispatched two teams consisting of PCSO deputies, fire-rescue, and other emergency responders, along with generators, and other resources to assist Holmes County Sheriff’s Office during Hurricane Michael’s aftermath.

These additional deputies will help guard the food and water trucks when they arrive, as well as provide additional neighborhood patrols for citizen safety.

Together, deputies from HCSO and PCSO will be performing extra patrols to checkING both residential and business properties to ensure they are secure.

Residents should continue to dial 911 for emergencies and calls for service

Please note I-10 is now open and will help alleviate congestion on Highway 90.
